Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri responded to Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Sikhs, stating that Gandhi seems to believe it's important to question whether Sikhs can wear turbans in India. Puri referenced the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, saying, "During the pogrom against the Sikh community in 1984, many of my friends, because they were being attacked, they got clean shaven and shed their turban. Out of fear, not as a matter of choice. What you do as a matter of choice is entirely your choice and you should go ahead and do it."
