iPhone 16 Pro cheaper this year: Here's why you should still buy iPhone 15 Pro
At the Glowtime event on Monday, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 16 series. The hero devices of the event were surely the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max –– as intended by Apple. However, in India, the iPhone 16 Pro has been stealing the show for being priced Rs 15,000 lower than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro was launched at a starting price of Rs 1,19,900, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro was priced at Rs 1,34,900 for the base variant, at the time of launch last year. In fact, even now, the iPhone 15 Pro is priced more than the iPhone 16 Pro’s launch price. However, we still think that there is at least one reason why the iPhone 15 Pro still makes more sense to buy over the 16 Pro.
What does iPhone 16 Pro offer?
We are not saying that the iPhone 16 Pro isn’t a good smartphone. In fact, the entire iPhone 16 series actually looks quite promising this time. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max come with several enhancements. Their displays are now bigger: the iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the 16 Pro Max offers the largest-ever iPhone screen at 6.9-inch. The Pro models now also have slimmer bezels, and always-on 120Hz ProMotion displays.
Powered by the advanced A18 Pro chipset, the iPhone 16 Pro also offers 20 per cent faster GPU performance than the iPhone 15 Pro. If you are a gamer, and like to stream from your device, then you would also be happy to know that the iPhone 16 Pro offers USB 3 speeds.
The iPhone 16 Pro models also sport a 48-megapixel fusion camera with second-gen quad-pixel sensor, providing zero shutter lag in ProRAW and HEIF formats. It also supports 4K120 video capture and introduces a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus. The 12-megapixel telephoto camera offer a 5x zoom with a 120mm focal length.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro series adds new audio features, such as Spatial Audio capture and Audio Mix, which isolates voices from background noise. While the battery capacity hasn’t been disclosed, Apple claims the iPhone 16 Pro Max has the best battery life of any iPhone, thanks to improved power management and larger battery capacity.
